Humanists Celebrants who serve the Basingstoke and Reading Area

Janet Price  Janet Price

Specialises in Funerals, Weddings and Namings …

My name is Janet Price and I’m a celebrant accredited by the BHA to conduct funerals, weddings and baby naming ceremonies. I’m currently the regional co-ordinator, working with a network of celebrants covering the South Central area. We are a great bunch of people and meet each other for socials too.

I live in Winchester and conduct funerals mainly at Basingstoke, Southampton and Wessex Vale crematoria. But weddings and namings can take me into Wiltshire, Surrey and Sussex – or even Poland, as is happening this summer!

Humanist Ceremonies are increasing year on year and I feel very privileged to have met so many wonderful families through my work, as well as getting to know some interesting humanist colleagues. The BHA is a great organisation to work with – as well as providing us with training and a mentor, we are supported by local colleagues and have the facility to create our own websites. Do look at mine to find out more:

Ailsa Davies  Ailsa Davies

For many years Ailsa contemplated different religions – looking for ‘something’.   It was after a discussion with her brother and sister in law that she discovered that Humanism was for her.   Having pursued further, Ailsa joined the British Humanist Association and later decided to train as a Celebrant.

Her initial training in 2010 enabled her to deliver non-religious funeral services; she is now also accredited to perform weddings and baby naming ceremonies.

Her aim when creating a ceremony is to provide a unique and personal ceremony which meets the wishes of those involved. Creating a ceremony in close consultation with you and your family Ailsa will provide help and advice so that the ceremony is what you and want and is appropriate to the occasion.

Ailsa was born in Edinburgh and after completing her college education moved to the Thames Valley area where she has lived and worked ever since.

We are always looking for new people to train, so if you are interested, follow this link to see if it might be for you and if you want to find out more, give me a ring.
